Middle/High School Homework Help and Prep

These tutorials would include lessons especially prepared for English enrichment for grades 7-12. If your student needs extra help or a preview of the work coming up in their next grade level, I can prepare lessons to make them comfortable with the rigor they will experience in the upcoming school year. If you feel your student has gaps in learning or would love for them to come into the next grade level more prepared for their assignments, I will assess their reading levels and work to improve their reading and comprehension of appropriate grade level skills and vocabulary. 

Advanced Placement (AP) Prep

For students looking to complete the AP courses in English or other college level courses, I can provide preparatory lessons for the upcoming school year. I will overview the structure of the test, provide enriching materials, assess skill levels and determine needs for our lesson focus, and focus specifically on an introduction to AP writing and analysis. These tutorial sessions should provide a firm foundation for preparation for their AP exams and extend lessons they will be provided in their AP coursework at school. 

SAT/ACT/TSIA Prep

These sessions would be test prep specific. SAT/ACT is oriented toward high school juniors and seniors looking to take college entrance exams. TSIA is necessary for community college admission or dual credit program work. I will create specific lessons centered on testing strategies to use for these exams.  

Adult Education

These lessons would be oriented toward personal goals for the student. As a global citizen, I believe that communication of any form is effective as long as we can ascertain meaning. I believe these lessons could provide opportunities for students of English to practice academic English without judgement. I could also prepare lessons for TOEFL specific test preparation. 

International English Help

These lessons are created around personal goals of the student. As a global citizen, I believe that communication of any form is effective as long as we can ascertain meaning, so I am very adaptable for new English learners. I believe these lessons could provide opportunities for students to converse in English without judgement. We can work on conversational or academic English. I can also provide lessons for TOEFL specific test preparation. 

College Entrance and Scholarship Planning

These lessons would provide specific help in researching and applying to college, writing admissions essays, applying to scholarships and workshopping essays for submission. I am also available for letters of recommendation upon establishing tutoring relationship. 

Special Education Advocate Consultation

These sessions would be more specifically oriented on a family discussion with parents on Special Education rules and laws, as well as plans for the upcoming school year for your student. We would discuss the current accomodations or services outlined for your student in their IEP and how to advocate for your student during your annual ARD meetings.
